About the Takata Airbag Recall

Affected vehicles have a passenger side frontal airbag inflator which is susceptible to moisture intrusion. Over time, accumulated moisture can cause the inflator to rupture upon its deployment during a frontal collision. Abnormal deployments are mainly found on vehicles that are exposed to high heat and humidity for a prolonged period, hence, vehicles in Asia are more susceptible to this phenomenon.

The Takata Airbag Recall has been issued worldwide and affects vehicles across several brands.

For Subaru in Philippines, the recall is limited to the vehicle models as follows:

• 2004-2014MY Legacy / Outback (2003-2014MY for USA Specs)
• 2007-2011MY Tribeca (2006-2014MY for USA Specs)
• 2004-2011MY Impreza
• 2008-2014MY WRX, STI
• 2009-2012MY Forester (2009-2013MY for USA Specs)
