Official Statement: Statement on U.S. Media Reports Regarding Subaru Forester Sunroof Recall

SINGAPORE, 5 June 2026 – Motor Image Enterprises is aware of recent media reports from the United States regarding a voluntary safety recall issued by Subaru of America concerning the power sunroof glass panel on certain 2026 model year Forester and Forester E-BOXER Hybrid vehicles.

Customer safety is our absolute priority, and we would like to provide an immediate update regarding the recall for our owners.

Internal Service Data Review

Following the U.S. announcement, our technical and aftersales teams conducted an immediate audit of our local service logs. To date, there have been zero reports of sunroof bonding issues, unexpected noises, or glass detachment within the Subaru Foresters in Singapore.

Clarification with Subaru Corporation

Because vehicle manufacturing sources and component allocations vary significantly across international markets, a recall in North America does not automatically mean vehicles in other regions are affected. We are currently in direct communication with Subaru Corporation (Japan) to clarify the facts and confirm whether any of the specific component batches or assembly plant configurations involved in the U.S. recall have any relevance to local-spec vehicles.

Next Steps

At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that vehicles distributed locally are included in this recall population. We will continue to track this issue closely and will update our customers immediately should the manufacturer advise any precautionary measures applicable to our vehicles in the region.
